The fox ran the Lincoln-Gainsborough railway for 300 yards before crossing it, and continued to Lea 

village.  Bearing left-handed he then re-crossed the railway and went on by Hammerdam to Thurlby 

Wood.  After running the whole length of the wood, he skirted Willoughton Wood, and, leaving 

Somerby Hall on the left, passed through Brickhills and went to ground near Springthorpe Village, 

dead beat after a splendid run of 50 minutes.
