According to P.M.Greatorex in her booklet Ripples on the Pond (1985),
this was "Mr Lambert's house and shop". 
It had previously been the home of several other notable Springthorpe families: 
  • Henry Milburn
  • Freddie Johnson
  • Walter Harris
  • Percy, Olive and Maurice Stephenson

Her husband,  Des Harris, was brought up at August Cottage 
This was one of the fields to their farm. 
It is now the very attractive garden to Marjorie's bungalow, on Hill Road at School Lane.
